The peaceful Islam George Bush talked about and the Islam in the developing world. Shortly after the September 11, 2001 terrorist attack on the New York Trade Center, President Bush gave a speech where he stated two remarkable things:

1. That Islam was a peaceful religion.

2. That Allah was not happy with the terrorists.

My president knows that Muslims are divided over his comments. Basically some, but not all Muslims living in the West would agree with Bush's comments. However Muslims living in Islamic controlled countries call Bush a liar and openly praise Osama Bin Laden as a martyr for the faith. While Muslims living in the west will say Islam is peaceful, they are violating the message of the Qur'an and changing the historical pattern of Islamic life. Muslims in Islamic controlled nations view most North American Muslims as "polluted by western culture" and "lukewarm Muslims".
