CAN A CHRISTIAN BE LOST?
When did the last days begin?
James 5:1 Come now, you rich, weep and howl for your miseries
which are coming upon you. Your riches have rotted and your garments
have become moth-eaten. Your gold and your silver have rusted;
and their rust will be a witness against you and will consume
your flesh like fire. It is in the last
days that
you have stored up your treasure!
.
.
Keep in mind the context of the
verse.
- The book of James was written in about 62 AD
and addressed universally to all Christians.
- The verse is written in past tense, not the future
tense.
- Is it reasonable to exclude all the Christians
of the first century from the context of the verse?
- Doesn't this indicate that THEY lived in the
last days 2000 years ago?
