Body: | Review: The Four Revelation verses: Two verses in the first chapter of Revelation "The Revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave Him to show to His bond-servants, the things which must shortly take place" Rev 1:1 "Blessed is he who reads and those who hear the words of the prophecy, and heed the things which are written in it; for the time is near." Rev 1:3 Two verses in the last chapter of Revelation "the God of the spirits of the prophets, sent His angel to show to His bond-servants the things which must shortly take place." Rev 22:6 "Do not seal up the words of the prophecy of this book, for the time is near." Rev 22:10 On what basis do people teach Revelation is only for the 20th century??? Important thought: If God wanted to tell us that the prophecies within Revelation were for first & second century Christians, can you think of a clearer more concise way that he could describe it than these four verses? Does Revelation only prophecy future events? . . The Bible says: "Write therefore the things which you have seen, and the things which are, and the things which shall take place after these things." Rev 1:19 Question: How many time periods does Revelation's message discuss? One time period: Only the distant future, 2000 AD Two time periods: The present and the future Three time periods: The past, present and the future. . . Lets look closer! "Write therefore the things which you have seen, and the things which are, and the things which shall take place after these things." Rev 1:19 Summary of Rev 1:9: Past: "Write the things which you have seen" Present: "Write the things which are" Future: "Write the things which shall take place after these things" Only part of Revelation dealt with prophecy I disagree, Revelation is totally a book of future prophecy! . .
