It says that God has "spoken to us". Who did God speak to? God had spoken to first century Christians through Jesus God was not speaking to first century Christians but only to us living in the 20th century . . Hint: Keep in mind the context of the verse. The book of first Peter was written between 62-69 AD and addressed universally to all Christians. Is it reasonable to exclude all the Christians of the first century from the context of the verse?
