When did the last times begin? The Bible says: Acts 2:1-4 And when the day of Pentecost had come, they were all together in one place. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit was giving them utterances. Please explain to me what the day of Pentecost is and the speaking of tongues! . . Facts about the day of Pentecost and tongues: The day of Pentecost here in Acts 2, happened in about 33AD. This was the day the Holy Spirit fell upon the twelve apostles. Thousands gathered to hear the first gospel sermon preached by Peter. Hint: Keep in mind the context of the verse. The book of James was written in about 62 AD and addressed universally to all Christians. The verse is written in past tense, not the future tense.
