407: Are we Saved By Faith Only?
Misunderstood possibly as much as any other part of the Bible doctrine is the essentiality of good works to salvation. People confuse the good works of the gospel which the Bible clearly defines as essential, with the works of the law of Moses, or the meritorious works of men in an effort to earn salvation. The Bible does not teach that people are saved by works of the Old Testament law of Moses, for we read in Romans Chapter 3, verse 20, that "by the deeds of the law shall no flesh be justified in his sight". From Colossians Chapter 2, verse 14, we learn that the law of Moses was nailed to the cross of Christ and is no longer bound upon anyone. We know that the only hope for salvation for lost humanity today is through the gospel of Christ. We do not propose to be saved by the works of the law, but through the works of faith and the labor of love in obedience to Christ. While the Bible says: "By the deeds of the law shall no flesh be justified", it also says in James Chapter 2, verse ... ...

410: How to be attain Sanctification!
How to be attain Sanctification! In the Old Testament "holiness", holy people, places and things, is the major emphasis of sanctification. Jehovah God is above all else a holy God who by his very nature sanctifies all persons and things to which he relates. To Moses, God said out of the burning bush: "Draw not nigh hither- put off thy shoes from off thy feet, for the place whereon thou standest is holy ground" Exodus 3: 5. When God appointed Israel's worship of him in the tabernacle and when God formally appointed Aaron and his family to the priesthood, God said to Moses: "And there I will meet with the children of Israel, and the tabernacle shall be sanctified by my glory and I will sanctify the tabernacle of the congregation, and the altar: I will sanctify also both Aaron and his sons, to minister to me in the priest's office" Exodus 29: 43-44. 412: Can A Christian Sin And Be Lost?
Those who hold this last view believe that Christians can do wrong, but they also believe that Christ will forgive them of any, and every, sin so that they will be blameless on the day of judgement. You researched this question to find, not what man teaches, but what the Bible teaches about the possibility of Christians falling from the way of truth, and becoming lost. The most clear treatment of this subject in the New Testament is found in the second chapter of II Peter. Study this entire chapter carefully. I quote now ... Study Hebrews 6:18, and I Corinthians 14:33. To illustrate this, we can study verses about baptism (for instance) in the New Testament books written by the apostles John, Paul, and James, and expect agreement. An insignificant gloss which dates to 282 BC, contains the addition of the words "and in Canaan" in the LXX and the Samaritan Pentateuch (SP). This gloss appears to be an attempt to harmonize a chronological puzzle between Levi and Moses, "four generations later" listed in Exodus 6:16-20. The original Jewish translators of the LXX in 282 BC attempted to fix what they thought was a problem. In doing so, they created a domino effect of confusion that was resolved once and for all in the New Testament by Stephen in Acts 7:6 and Paul in Acts 13:19, certifying the long sojourn of 430 years as the correct reading. ... first to the Eastern Church where most of this development took place. The Apostolic Fathers were witnesses to the Biblical data and the traditional faith rather than theologians, but they furnished useful insights into the lines along which the Church's unconscious theology was developing. Most of them indicated quite clearly a belief in the divinity of Christ, less clearly a belief in the distinct personality and divinity of the Holy Spirit. They gave solid evidence of a belief in three pre-existent 'beings,' but they furnished no trinitarian doctrine, no awareness of a trinitarian problem. "The Jews never regarded the spirit as a person; nor is there any solid evidence that any Old Testament writer held this view. . . . The Holy Spirit is usually presented in the Synoptics [Gospels] and in Acts as a divine force or power." 422: Please explain why we have Old And New Testaments?
The Old Testament was preparatory, temporary, and limited. The New is complete, eternal, and universal. The Old Testament promised a New Testament (Jer. 31:31). The prophet Isaiah spoke of the days to come when the new law would go forth from Jerusalem (Isaiah 2:2-4). In the New Testament, the Apostle Paul stated that the law of Moses had been given until the seed, which is Christ Jesus, had come (study Galatians 3:19-27). ... James A. Sanders, Editors: The Canon Debate; Everett Ferguson, Factors Leading to the Selection and Closure of the New Testament Canon, p 311, 2002) Recently David Trobisch proposed that a second-century editing process produced and published the twenty-seven-book New Testament we have today, in the order: Gospels; Acts and the Catholic Epistles; fourteen letters of Paul, with Hebrews located between 2 Thessalonians and 1 Timothy; and Revelation. Evidence is found in the choice of authors to whom New Testament books are ascribed, in editorial remarks in the New Testament writings themselves (including in Acts, 2 Timothy, 2 Peter, and John 21), in the widespread use of the nomina sacra in early manuscripts of the New Testament, and in the codex form. Then an amazing thing happened to the 4500 year old seed...It grew! Scientists were stunned. Yet to county folk it was no big news. Farmers understand that seed needs three things for survival; constant darkness, cool temperature and dryness. The Pyramids are the perfect place to store seeds. Modern skeptics are constantly attacking the Bible. They say parts of the Bible have been lost altered or corrupted over time. They say the Bible we have in our hands is vastly different from the original one 2000 years ago. Such charges are not based upon fact but are an irresponsible and deceptive slur against Gods Holy word. The Dead Sea scrolls, were written about 100 BC. They contained copies of and quotations from many Old Testament books. When they were discovered about 50 years ago, Bible students were anxious to see if the text of Isaiah, for example, had changed in 2000 years. Modern studies and discoveries make this even more certain now than ever before. Why Jesus even commanded animal sacrifices! (Matthew 8:4) Yet keeping Jewish feast days are forbidden in Gal 4:10, even though the new trend in Sabbath keeping churches is to wade deeper in to the waters of judaizing. According to twisted Sabbatarian logic, if quoting "Thou Shalt not covet" in the New Testament binds the whole 10 commandment law; then quoting "Love your neighbor as yourself" binds the whole book of Moses. If quoting some of the "ten commandments" binds the Sabbath day, then quoting some of the laws in the "book of the law of Moses" binds the entire "ceremonial law" (as Sabbatarians incorrectly call it). What proves too much proves nothing at all! The two greatest moral commandments are not found in the ten commandments: Jesus said the greatest commandment was not part of the 10! ... The direction proclamation that Christ is God is obscured by the altered text. Romans 10:13 "Lord" changed to "Jehovah." This revision obscures the fact that the Lord referred to in verse 13 is the same Lord called Jesus in verse 9. Since the JWs reject the deity of Jesus, the revision is made accordingly. The Greek word, kurios, translated "Lord" has been revised to "Jehovah" over 200 times in the NWT. The JWs insist that this is the only valid title for God, even though Greek-speaking Jews used "Lord" and "God" in place of "Yahweh" (the source of "Jehovah") throughout their Septuagint translation of the Old Testament. Furthermore, the Bible contains dozens of names for God other than Lord, Yahweh, or Jehovah. 448: History of the Chinese Language
From Babel, a people departed and eventually settled in what we now call China, with their own distinct verbal language, and soon thereafter, they constructed a written code. That written code (as identified above, a pictoral language) has in it a record of the pre-Babel history of mankind which parallels the Bible record. To further emphasize the significance of these details being found in the Chinese language, it is essential to consider when the inspired Hebrew text was penned by Moses. The Exodus from Egypt took place in the 1400s BC. Moses, at the age of eighty (Exodus 7:7) led the Israelites away from their bondage and toward the promised land of Canaan. He would die forty years later at the top of Mount Nebo (Deuteronomy 34:1,7). The book of Genesis, written by Moses, was penned as much as 800 years after the events at the tower of Babel, and over 500 years after the development of the written Chinese language.
