In Eph. 3:5, we read the mystery of Christ was not known unto other generations. In verse 11, he states that it was in the eternal purpose of God that through the church would be made known the manifold wisdom of God. Therefore, the promise to all the faithful patriarchs and prophets of all was to be fulfilled in the church, the body of Christ. Eph. 5: 23-25. About six months before His death, Christ said, "upon this rock I will build my church" Matthew 16:16-18. In the Old Testament many predictions were made concerning the church or the Kingdom, and that it would never be destroyed. In Isaiah 2:2-4, he states that when the word of Jehovah would go forth from Jerusalem, Jehovah's house was to be established and all nations would flow into it. In Zach. 1:16, God speaking through the prophets said, "My house shall be built in Jerusalem". Since you have visited this website, you want to know the Bible answer to this question; you want to know which of the forgoing alternatives is correct, or if God presents another alternative through His word, the Bible. The Bible tells, us in Acts, Chapters I and 2, about how (on the day of the beginning of the church) Peter spoke to the multitudes in Jerusalem. Modern Jewish weddings are as removed and different from the ancient Jewish marriage culture of the first century as Christian weddings are. 386: McKenzie, John L.: Dictionary of the Bible
What they left out to deceive you: In the words of Jesus and in much of the rest of the NT the God of Israel (Gk. ho theos) is the Father* of Jesus Christ. It is for this reason that the title ho theos, which now designates the Father as a personal reality, is not applied in the NT to Jesus Himself; Jesus is the Son of God (of ho theos). This is a matter of usage and not of rule, and the noun [Gk. ho theos] is applied to Jesus a few times. "Jn 1:1 should rigorously be translated "the word was with the God [= the Father], and the word was a divine being." Thomas invokes Jesus with the titles which belong to the *Father, "My Lord and my God" (Jn 20:28). "The glory of our great God and Savior" which is to appear can be the glory of no other than Jesus (Tt 2:13)" (Dictionary of the Bible, John L.
