302: Who Is This Man Jesus?
As Jesus was coming up from the waters of Jordan, a voice spoke from Heaven, "This is my beloved Son in whom I am well pleased." Jesus went into the wilderness, to allow Satan to tempt Him just as Satan tempts us today. For forty days Jesus fasted and then beat down the foe, Satan, with his powerful knowledge of God's will. As He came down from the hills, He was filled with the Holy Spirit, and he walked, talked, and lived among men for three years. John wrote in his gospel (20:30) "Now Jesus did many other signs ill the presence of the disciples which are not recorded in this book. But these were written so that you might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that believing you may have life in His name." And John recorded that Jesus raised the dead to live again, made the blind to see, made the lame to walk, cast out demons, made food for five thousand from a few loaves of bread and a few fish, stilled the seas during a storm, and walked upon water. Yet even these ... ...

They pointed away from themselves and said, "That is the truth, as I have discovered it; follow that". Christ pointed to himself and said: "I am the truth; follow me". Further, Jesus alone, of all the world's religious founders, claimed to be the very deity he represented. Muhammad did not claim to be Allah; Buddha did not claim to be Brahma; Socrates did not claim to be Zeus; Moses did not claim to be Jehovah. Only Christ claimed to be divine, to be one with the Father who sent him (John 10:30). Christ claimed to have a unique relationship with God. ... one baptism, one God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all." In practice, there were few misunderstandings of God's teachings by the early Christians; the churches of the first century were united in spirit and in teaching, just as Jesus had intended. It is difficult to believe, logically, that just anything goes in the Christian religion. If wide interpretation of the scriptures were permitted, or were desirable, God would accept different faiths and different obedience from different people depending on how the individual read the scriptures. Thus, we would have to believe, not that man must be obedient to the will of God, but that God is obedient to the individual's interpretation. This is a very convenient, but obviously false doctrine, for God is not a respecter of persons, but accepts those who obey His will. Study Acts 10:34. The trinity was hidden in the Old Testament until Christ came and the earliest Christians began to "search the (Old Testament) scriptures daily" (Acts 17:11) to see if Paul's claim that Jesus of Nazareth, was the direct subject of prophecy. We have no doubt that Paul would point out the six passages where God is refereed to with plural pronouns. (Us, Our) God's oneness is conveyed by personal pronouns like He, Him, His, I, Myself, Me. 329: Gibbon, Edward: History of Christianity
The pure Deism of the first Christians (who differed from their fellow Jews only in the belief that Jesus was the promised Messiah,) was changed, by the Church of Rome, into the incomprehensible dogma of the trinity. Many of the pagan tenets, invented by the Egyptians and idealized by Plato, were retained as being worthy of belief. The doctrine of the incarnation, and the mystery of transubstantiation, were both adopted, and are both as repugnant to reason, as was the ancient pagan rite of viewing the entrails of animals to forecast the fate of empires!" (Edward Gibbon's History of Christianity, quoted in, Should you believe the Trinity?, Watchtower publication) ... And the Governing body of Jehovah's Witnesses knows this about Gibbon's views. ... Haenchen comes right out and tells us that Jesus IS NOT a creature: Of John 1:1a he says that the Logos, "existed before the creation and was not therefore created" When Haenchen said, "John 1:1, however, tells of something that was sin existence already in time primeval; astonishingly, it is not 'God'." He was refuting Modalism. A simple reading of Haenchen's comments reveal that what he was saying is that Jesus is not the same person as GOD THE FATHER. Haenchen never denies that Jesus is God and does deny that Jesus is a creature. Haenchen is refuting a modalistic interpretation (specifically, patripassianism) not a trinitarian interpretation. Jehovah's Witnesses, through selective satanic quoting, mislead the reader to conclude that Haenchen is arguing in favour of the Watchtower's Arian view of Jesus as a lessor created god. In 1758 AD, William Battie, Mad Doctor at Bedlam and then St. Lukes asylum, was caustically hostile to Christianity and religion in general, like modern chemical psychiatry today. The Holy Bible was written by men divinely inspired and is the record of God's revelation of Himself to man. It is a perfect treasure of divine instruction. It has God for its author, salvation for its end, and truth, without any mixture of error, for its matter. Review: Telling Lies for God: Reason vs Creationism By Ian Plimer Dr. J. Sarfati Shrill and unscholarly, even by anti-creationist standards May 28, 2001 Readers should be aware that Plimer is a member of the Humanist Society of Victoria. Its membership application (1994) says 'I subscribe to the objects and rules of the Humanist Society of Victoria in order to create a society in which a person may reach their full potential free from supernatural beliefs'. It's difficult to believe that anyone could honestly claim that his book was respectful to religion and not anti-Christian when it's full of puerile mocking of the Scripture, which Jesus said "cannot be broken" (John 10:35). He also claims on p. 278 that belief in life after death is evidence that one has not been 'taught how to think'. It seems the main reason for this tirade against creationism is that it challenges his religious faith. He uses about every unfair rhetorical trick in the book, including leading questions and guilt ... ...

When God's word is preached and taught, God is honored and glorified. In Jeremiah 5:31 God says, "The prophets prophesy falsely; and my people love to have it so." Why do people desire to be taught falsely? Because they are not interested in what God has to say. The reason for all the religious division we see in the world today is people will not accept all that God says in the Bible as final authority. They have become their own authority. Allow me to briefly define the terms of my proposition. By "the New Testament" I mean specifically the time in which the New Testament era began. This simply means that the church is commanded (either by direct command, example, or implication) to come together upon the first day of the week for worship. I do not believe Sunday was ever a "Christian Sabbath" as some denominational preachers have taught. I do not contend that God "changed" the "Sabbath" from the seventh day to the first day. The first day was not a Sabbath day to begin with. It is ... The apostle Paul, however, tells Christians that they were to give upon the "first day of the week." view believe that Christians can do wrong, but they also believe that Christ will forgive them of any, and every, sin so that they will be blameless on the day of judgement. In fact you will be shocked by what you will read on this page about what Jehovah's Witnesses believe about their vast universe of created gods, and it is all true!
