JESUS: The God Who Forgives! Click to View Forgiveness is the perfume a flower leaves on the heel that crushed it. It is an undeserved grace that one who is sinned against grants the one who sinned against them. The word "grace" means literally in the original Greek "unmerited favor". It is through God's grace, mercy and forgiveness that we have the forgiveness of our sins. Every man has sinned before God, 1 John 8-10 "If we say that we have no sin, we are deceiving ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. If we say that we have not sinned, we make Him a liar, and His word is not in us." When Jesus hung on the cross, He being God, showed the perfect example in the attitude we must have in forgiving others. He said, "Father forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing." 410: Anti-Trinity proof texts REFUTED: John 8:42
"I proceeded forth and have come from God, for I have not even come on My own initiative, but He sent Me." Click to View False Arian argument stated: The expression "proceeded forth" indicates that Jesus was created by God who was the source of Jesus existence. What John 17:3 is actually saying: The expression, "proceeded forth" in John 8:42 means nothing more than "Jesus came from the presence of the Father, being sent". The text teaches that Jesus was a human messenger that pre-existed his physical birth and came to the world by the incarnation. The Greek word for "proceeded forth" (exerchomai) is never used in scripture in the sense of creation point or origin. The same Greek word for "proceeded forth" (exerchomai) is used in both John 8:42 and Mk 5:8. Did the demons have their creation point in the man? Obviously not. So even if the actual meaning of John 8:42 was that Jesus came from inside the Father, it clearly doesn't mean that it was Jesus creation point any more than the ... ...

411: Why Are There Different Versions Of The Bible???
Yes there are many denominations, but don't blame that on the fact there are many versions of the Bible. There is one Bible. First we need to understand what we mean by a "version". A better word than "version" is "translation". The Old Testament was originally written in Hebrew and the New Testament in Greek. If every man could read Hebrew and Greek, then we would have no need for an "English version". Most people can't read Greek, "It's all Greek to me"! We must rely, therefore, upon men who are fully fluent in English and Greek. These "scholars" read the original Greek Bible and come up with an English equivalent. This process is called translation. We have all seen a foreign diplomat give a news conference through the help of a translator. One translator may choose different words or sentences, but the message is identical. Translation is a reliable science of communicating between different languages. Remember, it was God Himself who created all the language barriers in Genesis ... ...

420: Scripture contains a pattern that must to be followed.
The earliest Christians were patternists. "Patternism" is a term that is derived from Rom 617: "But thanks be to God that though you were slaves of sin, you became obedient from the heart to that form of teaching to which you were committed". The Greek word is "Morphe" which means a form or mold into which molten material is poured to create an object. Patternism is the act of following scripture so closely that you view it as a mold or form, that we are to duplicate morally and doctrinally in our lives. Roman Catholics and Othodox leaders are anti-patternist. They refuse to allow the Bible to govern their lives. They feel that man-made church tradition can change the Bible. They fell the Bible is not a pattern or form to be followed. 425: What Must I Do To Be Saved ?
The change in a person's life resulting in his becoming a Christian is called in the Bible, conversion, and the Bible teaches that conversion is necessary for a person to be saved. Christ likened this change to a birth and taught Nicodemus, "Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit he cannot enter into the kingdom of God" (John 3:5). Of the 27 books comprising the New Testament, there is one book which is particularly helpful in understanding the nature of conversion. This book is Acts of the Apostles which tells of the conversions of many different people. In Chapters 2, 8, 9, 10, 11, 16, 18, and 22 are 8 key examples of conversion and from these examples certain universal principles of conversion can be understood. First, conversion is dependent upon the acceptance of the Word of God by the sinner. Jesus said, "The seed is the Word", and conversions mentioned in the book of Acts bear out the necessity of both the presentation of God's word to the sinner and his acceptance of ... ...

426: How to be attain Sanctification!
The Apostle Peter explains this opportunity as follows: "According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us 'Lo glory and virtue: Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these you might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust" II Peter 1: 3-4. The New Testament becomes even more specific as to how we can participate in.God's nature, how we can know his holiness in our lives. When praying for his apostles, Jesus said: "Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth" John 17: 17. This marvelous change of our human natures, God's word declares, is made possible by the sacrifice of Jesus Christ. The Jehovah's Witnesses have their inspired Watchtower Magazine, the Seventh-day Adventists make bold claims that Ellen G. 435: Bible Texts Calvinists misuse to prove "Eternal Security"
There are two key words in this passage - commit and cannot. Commit - from the Greek word POIEO. This word refers to what one does repeatedly, continually, habitually. It does not mean that a person does not occasionally sin, but will not make a constant practice of sin. Cannot - from the Greek word OU-DUNAMAI. This means morally unable and not that which is physically impossible "And so the word in our verse does not mean that the child of God has come to the place where he is physically unable to do any wrong, but that he is morally restrained from it, just as a good man who is asked to join another in some came would reply, ""O, no, I couldn't do anything like that." (E.M. Zerr, Bible Commentary, volume 6, p. 284 ) The Greek words literally mean, "cannot continue to PRACTICE sin" John plainly says that Christians do sin: 1 Jn 1:8-10; 2:1-2 The passage is saying that a Christian cannot sin and be consistent with Christ. some "never cease from sin" 2 Pe 2:14 does not mean they are ... ...

438: Please explain why we have Old And New Testaments?
... The following are some comparisons between the Old and the New: Death versus Life (II Corinthians,3:6-8). Bondage versus Freedom (Galatians 5:1). The Old was to Jews only (Mal.4:4) while the New is to all men (Matt.28:18-20). Temporal versus Eternal (Galatians 3:19 and Matthew 24:35). Carnal versus Spiritual (Hebrews 9:10 and John 4:23-24). Continued Guilt versus Pardon (Romans 8:2 and Hebrews 9:12-14). If it has been taken away and no longer applies to modern man, then of what use is the Old Testament today? From it comes the inspired record of the creation, the history of man and his need for a Savior, and the wonderful prophecies of Christ. Christians are to recognize the Old Testament as the inspired word of God and use it for learning, for admonition, and for comfort, but they must not, however, use it for their law (study Romans 15:4, I Cor. 10:11). The law we are to follow today consists of Jesus' commandments, the Apostles' directions, and the examples of the early Christians ... ...

Textual Variants in the Book of Hosea "Scripture cannot be broken" (Jesus, John 10:35) "My word will accomplish what I desire and succeed in the purpose for which I sent it." (Isa 55:11) Steve Rudd November 2017 Textual Variants in the Book of Hosea: Bible textual variants analysed Introduction: The Variants in Hosea stem from a corrupt Hebrew Masoretic text that predates the translation of the Septuagint in 282 BC. Not surprisingly, the small number of Dead Sea Scroll fragments that have been found, confirm the reading of the Masoretic Text. In other words, the variants already existed in the source text that was translated into the Greek Septuagint in 200 BC. Fortunately, the storyline of Hosea is simple and easy to follow in the larger picture, in spite of the variants. God is going to divorce Israel (10 northern tribes) because of their spiritual adultery of worshipping idols. God tells Hosea to marry a woman whom he loves but turns out to be a harlot. Paul said that this is equal to spiritual adultery, because in order to be joined to Christ, all the old Law must be abolished! By creating an artificial distinction that does not exist, Adventists are ignoring God's warning: "What therefore God has joined together, let no man separate." (Mt 19) In a most interesting way, Paul uses the marriage analogy to prove the 10 commandments are abolished. Paul's argument is that if the 10 Commandments (covet v7) are not abolished, then either we cannot be joined to Christ or we are guilty of adultery, just as a woman with two living husbands. B. 443: What is your ultimate Authority In Religion?
We are commanded not to go beyond the things which are written. Nothing may be added to, or taken from, this established standard of authority. (Rev. 22: 18-19). We must do as Paul urged Timothy, to rightly divide the word of truth. (II Timothy 2: 15). The word of our Lord as found in the New Testament is our authority in religion today. We are taught that "All scripture is given by the inspiration of God". (II Timothy 3: 15-17). The things Paul wrote were "the commandments of the Lord". (I Corinthians 14: 37). He wrote to Timothy that he might know how to live right. These writings in the New Testament were for us and that we might believe in Christ and accept the truth. God has given these writings to keep us from sin; and that we might know the certainty of the truth of Christianity and as Christians have eternal life. (I John 5:13).
