201: Criteria used by apostolic fathers to determine canon.
God, not men decided the canon. 202: The Old Testament Canon: The council of Jamnia: 90 AD
In other words, the Devil didn't ask, "Written in what?" for everyone, including even the Devil knew what books were included in the Old Testament. I. Discussion: Frank M. Cross sees Josephus, independent of any Jamnia proceedings, reflecting "a clear and coherent theological doctrine of canon that must stem, we believe, from canonical doctrine of Hillel and his school." Albert Sundberg recognizes that the "Council of Jamnia" hypothesis is dead. At the same time, still contending that the Hebrew tripartite canon was probably fixed between 70 and 135 C.E., he suggests that my own view of the hypothesis may have been too quickly accepted. He asks, "What alternatives are there to Jamnia as the venue?" Lee McDonald summarizes the case, "There is evidence that a discussion was held at Jamnia on the ... ...

We shall now enquire into the Causes of this Distemper, how it comes to passe that man should be thus befooled in his own conceit: And truly unlesse we should offer lesse satisfaction then the thing is capable of, we must not onely treat here of Melancholy, but of the Faculties of the Soul of man, whereby it may the better be understood how she may become obnoxious to such disturbances of Melancholy, in which she has quite lost her own judgement and freedome, and can neither keep out nor ... ... And we are certain, that amongst the Latins, the spirits that actuated the Cerriti and Larvati (who most exactly answered to the demoniacs of the New Testament) were no other than deified human ghosts . . . This was the case more especially with respect to epileptic diseases, the fits of which, it was ... It is necessary to add, that the same person was reputed by many both a demoniac and a lunatic: a demoniac, because they referred the epilepsy to the possession of demons; a lunatic, because the fits of this disorder were thought to keep lunar periods. 206: Migration to China
The word means to TELL or SPEAK or SAY. It's etymology identifies WORDS from EIGHT ELDERS. I would suggest that would be Noah and his wife, along with his three sons and their wives. They were, after the flood, the oldest (elder) people on the earth. But there's more. Just in case we're not certain that these eight elders who shared words with the ancient Chinese people were in fact Noah and his family, a word used for HANDING DOWN or PASSING DOWN (y?n) also reveals the source of their knowledge. This word pictures EIGHT WATER PEOPLE! Who could that be, but the eight people who were saved through water (1 Peter 3:20), Noah, his wife, his three sons, and their wives? Not only was the written syntax of the Chinese language provided by its developers as a means of communication, but it was used as a way to record history. In particular, the history of pre-Babel events were encoded in several images - hidden details of a time long ago. The precision with which these characters agree with ... ...

... It meant that this Adventist splinter group had not remained defeated, as others had, when Christ failed to appear in 1874 as Adventist leaders had predicted; somehow this small group had managed to hold onto the date by affirming that the Lord had indeed returned at the appointed time, only invisibly. In 1843 AD, James Braid, doctor, discovered "hypnotism" and coined the word. He believed he could cure many diseases including Epilepsy; Rheumatism; Paralysis and hysteria. His greatest successes were with hysteria: "The most striking cases . . . for illustrating the value of the hypnotic mode of treatment, are cases of hysteric ... Instead, Braid understood, we know today, that people hypnotize themselves. The two key concepts required to hypnotize anyone is the belief that the hypnotist can hypnotize, and a submissive, suggestive personality or disposition at the time. ... Of those that do, an alarmingly high number are preserved in just a single copy, and there is no manuscript of any classical text that survives from its author's own time, or even close to it. Roman production of maps (especially large ones) was never as prolific as that of texts. So it is hardly a surprise that a mere couple even remotely compara-ble to this one have survived, both of them as original stone monuments in fact (now fragmented), rather than through copying by scribes. In the present case, while any serious study has to consider the circumstances and context both of the original Roman map and of the successive copies now lost, it will bear in mind ... In it there is a slight preponderance of early characteristics, so that a date around A.D. 1200 also seems reasonable. ... Also Christology, which is closely linked to it - the doctrine concerning the nature of Christ and especially his pre-existence before the creation and time - revolves around questions which had been posed earlier by Egyptian theologians and which they solved in a strikingly similar way. These questions are discussed in the doctrines concerning Shu, the son of the Heliopolitan primary god Atum, which the Coffin Texts have preserved for us; here the deceased is equated with the son of God: 'I am Shu whom Atum has made the day when he [himself] came into being.' The idea is expressed still more clearly in an address by Atum: 'When I was alone with the [primordial ocean] Nun [and when the creation] did not yet exist, Shu [and his sister Tefnut] were with Me."
