122: Methuselah's begetting Age of Lamech was 187 not 167 years
"The simplest and most plausible explanation for the erroneous 167 reading in some manuscripts of LXX [Codex Alexandrinus: A] Genesis 5:25 is that it was the accident of a scribe near the beginning of the Septuagint's transmissional process. A basic text-critical reconstruction affirms this claim. Our earliest witness to LXX Genesis 5:25 is the chronology of Demetrius (who lived in Egypt less than 70 years after the original Greek translation), which confirms 187 as the LXX's original begetting age. Josephus (187, 969) and LAB (187, 782) also contain the correct ... Basic text-critical principles militate against drawing such a conclusion. The numbers in the three witnesses ought to be evaluated on their own merits, carefully taking into account both external and internal evidence. Septuagint scholar Peter Gentry explains: "Differences, therefore, between the LXX and other witnesses to the text which are genuine textual variants should be evaluated on a case by case basis, and one should ... ...

Here are three ancient texts from Clement, Lactantius, Herodotus that show that the they viewed Arabia as the place where spices came from. A. The Myth of the Phoenix: Clement, Lactantius, Herodotus "Let us consider that wonderful sign [of the resurrection] which takes place in Eastern lands, that is, in Arabia and the countries round about. There is a certain bird which is called a phoenix. This is the only one of its kind, and lives five hundred years. And when the time of its dissolution draws near that it must die, it builds itself a nest of frankincense, and myrrh, and other spices, into which, when the time is fulfilled, it enters and dies. But as the flesh decays a certain kind of worm is produced, which, being nourished by the juices of the dead bird, brings forth feathers. Then, when it has acquired strength, it takes up that nest in which are the bones of its parent, and bearing these it passes from the land of Arabia into Egypt, to the city called Heliopolis. ... Jerome did translate Isa 7:14 as "virgin" in Latin: "propter hoc dabit Dominus ipse vobis signum ecce virgo concipiet et pariet filium et vocabitis nomen eius Emmanuhel" (Isa 7:14 Jerome, Latin Vulgate, 382 AD) "Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign. Behold a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son and his name shall be called Emmanuel." (Isa 7:14 Jerome, Latin Vulgate translated into English) Conclusion: 1. The Latin Vulgate is an important manuscript because it reflects the Hebrew Masoretic Text of the Old Testament (Tanakh) in 383 AD. 2. It is no surprise then, that the Vulgate faithfully translated the shorter chronological numbers in the Hebrew text that had been corrupted and changed in 160 AD at Zippori. 3. 143: Angels commanded to worship Jesus Christ in Deut 32:43: Textual ...
... For the blood of his sons he will avenge, and he will avenge and repay justice to the enemy. And to those who hate him, he will render justice, and the Lord will cleanse the land of his people." (Odes 2:43, Apocrypha quote of Deut 32:43, LXX) 5. Other important texts: a. "And again, when He brings the firstborn into the world, He says, "And let all the angels of God worship Him."" (Hebrews 1:6) b. "Let all those be ashamed who serve graven images, Who boast themselves of idols; Worship Him, all you gods." (Psalm 97:7, MT) c. "Let them be dishonored, all those who worship carved idols, those who pride themselves in their idols. Worship him, all his angels!" (Psalm 97:7 [96:7], LXX) 6. Evidence of two Hebrew manuscripts: a. The variable between the LXX and 4Q44 indicate two different Hebrew texts. b. Remember the Septuagint (LXX) was translated from a Hebrew text in 282 BC by Jewish scholars from Jerusalem. This creates a puzzle as to why the Masoretic text (1000 AD) stands alone in ... ...

147: Terah's begetting age of Abram: Terah was 130 not 70 years old ...
... God commanded Terah to leave Ur of Chaldees for the land of Canaan in Genesis 11:31 b. It is quite possible that God made the three promises to Abraham's father Terah first, but he failed the test by remaining in Haran. c. Terah was an idol worshipper. d. What we do know, is that Terah NEVER LEFT Haran but died when the blessings were there for him in Canaan. In the final analysis, we can be certain that we possess the word of God! This is what Jesus meant, when He said: "Scripture cannot be broken" (Jesus, John 10:35) "My word will accomplish what I desire and succeed in the purpose for which I sent it." 148: Origin of Synagogues: 10 Reasons why Synagogues began in Alexandria ...
... This is a huge historical marker because if the Library of Alexandria was never build the Septuagint (LXX) never would have existed. b. Without the LXX (Septuagint) the Christian church would not have the inspired Old Testament in Greek. c. Alexandria, because of this library, became the intellectual capital of the Greek world where people had a hunger and thirst ... The books in the Prophets and Writings were translated later, probably all of them by about 130 b.c. as suggested by the Greek Prologue to Ben Sira." (The Septuagint and the Text of the Old Testament, P. J. Gentry, Bulletin for Biblical Research, Vol. 16, p 193, 2006 AD) c. Isaiah translated into Greek by 150 BC: "Date: According to the generally accepted explanation of the testimony of the Epistle of Aristeas, the Torah translation was carried out in Egypt in the beginning of the third century BCE. 149: Samaritan Chronicle: The Book of Joshua: 1362 AD. Creation 4263 ...
... Conclusion: 1. The age of the earth in the Samaritan Chronicle of the book of Joshua (SJ) is identical (within 3 years) of the SP if you use the short 215 sojourn for Israel in Egypt. 2. The Samaritan Chronicle of the book of Joshua (SJ) does not provide us with any valuable information about the origin of the chronology used in the SP for the age of the earth. 3. The 14th century AD manuscript of the SJ is likely a copy of a much older document, but we have no way of projecting it for certain back to the first century. 150: Historical search for Kadesh Barnea from 1000 BC - Present
Kadesh, in fact, is not located anywhere near the place almost all Bible maps say it is (ei. Qudeirat) but 100 km east at or near Petra. a. The Hebrews left Egypt in 1446 BC and spent 38 years at Kadesh and then entered the promised land in 1406 BC. b. Many people are unaware that historically, Kadesh was thought to be at Petra from 1446 BC - 1831AD. 2. Our proposed Exodus Route: a. The Scriptures as a whole teach, along with geographic analysis, that the Hebrews crossed the Red Sea on the Gulf of Aqaba, specifically at the Straits of Tiran. b. The scriptures teach that Mount Sinai is somewhere in north Saudi Arabia. (History leads us to suggest Mt. Lawz ... The Nabateans greatly enhanced the location with the elaborate carvings we see today. Being longstanding enemies of the Hebrews, they removed all traces of the Hebrew past, just like Pharaoh did in Egypt after Israel left Goshen. "If there be any ground for this conclusion, Petra assumes a new interest. Its rock-hewn caves may have ... ...
