301: Yes we can pray to Jesus! Prayer is simply talking to Jesus

Rev 5 is a scene in heaven where all creation, except men, are praising Jesus. It seems strange that we are not allowed to praise Jesus on earth but we will in heaven? Or will we be also forbidden from praising Jesus in heaven too? Click to View C. It is also interesting that Acts 7, where Stephen sees BOTH Jesus and the Father together in the vision, that Stephen choses to address Jesus in prayer. If praying to Jesus is sin, then maybe God should have not allowed Jesus to be the vision, forseeing that Stephen would pray (talk) to Jesus. 302: Bible Help to Fight Temptations!
This fact is our greatest source of strength when we must face temptations- knowing that Jesus was tempted and that He understands. In Hebrews Chapter 2, verse 18, the inspired writer said, "For in that he himself hath suffered being tempted, he is able to assist them that are tempted". In Chapter 4, verse 15, he said, "For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin". There is a beautiful song that asks the question, "Does Jesus care when I've tried and failed to resist some temptation strong? When for my deep grief I find no relief, though my tears flow all the night long?". Then it answers, "O Yes, He cares, I know He cares, His heart is touched with my grief; When the days are weary, the long night dreary, I know my Saviour cares". He cares because he knows what it's like; He has been there, and He strengthens me in my hour of trial. The temptation of Jesus was not an accident; ... ...

303: Parent's Responsibility to Children & the Bible
Parent's Responsibility to Children & the Bible Click to View While the Bible does not go into detail outlining exactly how each parent-child problem is dealt with, it does offer general guidelines that enable one to find through their application the right direction. One such guideline is suggested in Luke 2:51, a direct statement of the condition existing in the family of Jesus Christ. The passage reads, "And he went down with them and came to Nazareth and he was subject to them". The "he" in the passage was Jesus and the "them" was Mary and Joseph. The broad principle illustrated in this passage teaches that parents are given by God the authority to direct, guide, teach and discipline their children. If the son of God accepted the authority of earthly parents how much more ought the sons and daughters of men be under the authority of their parents. The next principle illustrated by this statement in Luke shows that children are to accept their direction and to be subject to their ... ...

... And they came up and took hold of His feet and worshiped Him. 10 Then Jesus *said to them, "Do not be afraid; go and take word to My brethren to leave for Galilee, and there they shall see Me." Mary alone tells apostles Jesus is risen. 10 She went and reported to those who had been with Him, while they were mourning and weeping. 18 Mary Magdalene *came, announcing to the disciples, "I have seen the Lord," and that He had said these things to her. Apostles reject Mary's testimony 11 And when they heard that He was alive, and had been seen by her, they refused to believe it. 305: Lesson 4: Our Sin Problem
The easiest person to deceive is ourselves. When we rationalize away what God says, this is what we are doing. God says that man has a sin problem, but man says that he does not. Who is right and what are we doing to God when we say that we have no sin? Continuing our reading in I John 1:10, "If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us." God is always right when he tells us that we have all sinned. In Romans 6:23 we read, "For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life in Jesus Christ our Lord". Death is a separation. When we die physically, our body is placed into the grave, but our spirit is separated from our dead body and goes back to God, who gave it. We are told in Ecclesiastes 12:7, "Then the dust will return to the earth as it was, and the spirit will return to God who gave it". In physical death, there is a separation between our body and our soul. In Romans 6:23, we saw that, "For the wages of sin is death". This is a ... ...

306: Only The Truth Shall Make You Free!!!
So is he that layeth up treasure for himself, and is not rich toward God" Luke 12:20,21. The news commentator, Paul Harvey, commenting on our country as a nation adrift from God, stated some time ago, "We keep singing, 'God bless America' but we forget to tell Him why!" Perhaps the problem lies in the fact that we don't have a legitimate reason to offer as to why America should be blessed. History will bear out that nations have enjoyed freedom and have maintained that freedom in proportion to their love and concern for truth. Jesus said, that truth would liberate us, set us free from the bondage of sin and Satan. Is Jesus implying that our physical freedom will be affected? I think so. For when our lives are directed by the Lord's truth, we are going to be recipients of His blessings. He will look upon us with favor and cause us to prosper. To paraphrase Psalm 33:12, David wrote: "The nation whose God is the Lord will be blessed". Allow me to show you why this is true. When we live by ... ...

307: Pre-Marital Sex and the Bible
... For this reason Paul writes in I Corinthians 7:2, "Nevertheless, to avoid fornication, let every man have his own wife and every woman have her own husband". Temptation is not a sin fornication is. Fornication is a sin against oneself. Paul said, "Flee fornication. Every sin that a man doeth is without the body, but he that committeth fornication sinneth against his own body" I Corinthians 6:18. The body of the believer belongs to God. He has been bought with a price and is to glorify God while in the flesh. All of this is clearly taught in this chapter. Fornication is generally committed. in private. This leads one to believe that, since no one knows, or since the act was committed with a prostitute or call girl, that the sin goes unnoticed and the consequences are allayed. This is just not so. Pre-marital sex? An effort to reach compatibility? An innocent game to play? Not according to the word. God says it is fornication, sin, and those who commit such things shall not inherit the ... ...

309: Who Do You Think Jesus Is?
No scripture gives us a clearer picture of who Jesus is than Phil 2:6, "Although Jesus existed in the form of God, he did not regard equality with God a thing to be grasped, but emptied himself, taking the form of a bond-servant, and being made in the likeness of men. And being found in the appearance as a man, He humbled himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross. Therefore, God highly exalted Him, and bestowed on Him the name which is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow." We are most familiar with the earth life of Jesus and how He was born into this world from heaven through the virgin Mary. Yet, even when Jesus walked the earth in a human body, He was fully divine, "For in Christ all the fullness of deity dwells in bodily form" (Col 2:9). God bore witness to the fact Jesus was divine by raising Him from the dead, "Jesus was declared the Son of God with power by the resurrection from the dead" (Rom 1:4). Jesus said, "Why ... ...

310: Noah's Flood
... Then the LORD said in His heart, 'I will never again curse the ground for man's sake, although the imagination of man's heart is evil from his youth; nor will I again destroy every living thing as I have done. (Genesis 8:20-21, NKJV) In this text, not only does the LORD say that He will not again destroy all flesh with a flood again, but He also indicates that He will no longer curse the ground for man's sake. This is not a statement about the flood, but about the weed curse which resulted from Adam's sin in the garden (Genesis 3:17-19). It was in the days of Noah, when he came forth from the ark that the weed curse was no more. Wickedness As noted above in Genesis 6:8-9, Noah distinguished himself from the people of his generation. He showed himself to be righteous, while his contemporaries were wicked. We saw this distinction between the sons of Adam, Cain and Abel. Noah followed in the way of Abel, while the rest of his generation followed the violence of Cain (see Cain & Abel ... ...

311: Lesson 8: We Must Only Worship God
God says in Exodus 20:4-5, "You shall not make for yourself a carved image, any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth; you shall not bow down to them nor serve them. For I, the Lord your God, am a jealous God." We see we are not to make any image whether it is a statue or any likeness of anything in heaven or earth to worship them. But this is done today when people worship icons. People bow down and pray to these statues and painted pictures whether they be the supposed likeness of Mary the mother of Jesus or one of the many other dead people who are called saints. This is in direct disobedience to the command of God. When I see people bowing down, burning candles, praying, and worshipping an icon image of a saint, my heart bleeds for them because they are putting their souls in jeopardy of being lost. We are warned in Colossians 2:18, "Let no one cheat you of your reward, taking delight in false humility ... ...

313: Burial Box of James, the Lord's Brother found!
Obviously, if you are "Israel's largest private collector", (as rumors say) you would certainly want to know what the inscription said. The 15-25 year delay, therefore, only hinders authentication of the artifact. After the box was shipped to Canada for a museum display, it was discovered the box was damaged in transport. This was due to no fault of Canada or the museum to which it was shipped. The owner had not used qualified "museum trained" packers, who if used, would have packed it properly. For the Roman Catholic or a member of an Orthodox sect this box refutes a false doctrine of the perpetual virginity of Mary, the mother of Jesus. Of course we don't need the inscription on the burial box of James to prove Mary had other children with Joseph her husband after the virgin birth of Jesus. We have the Bible was plainly says in 14 different passages that Jesus had other blood brothers and sisters. 314: Does Jesus have a human body NOW?
Jesus resurrected body was in no way distinguishable from any other human body. The counter argument that Jesus body had to be different because he could "walk through walls" is 100% neutralized when we realize that Philip was transported 30 miles instantly in Acts 8 and Jesus was transported to the shore 2 miles away Lk 16:21" They were willing therefore to receive Him into the boat; and immediately the boat was at the land to which they were going." The only other counter argument was that Jesus had a body of "flesh and bone" without any blood that is different from the "flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom" Cor 15. We feel such a distinction is very week and that taking "flesh and bone" at face value to mean "ordinary human body" is both the obvious and natural interpretation. These two arguments removed, our initial view that the resurrected body of Jesus was identical in nature to his pre-resurrected body is sustained. To further prove this we notice finally that the ... ...

How Can Man Be Justified With God? The dictionary defines the word justify as "To declare guiltless or blameless". This word as it is used in a Biblical way, "To regard and treat as righteous on the ground of Christ's mediatorial work". The Apostle Paul said in Romans Chapter 5, verse 1, "Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ". He continued his message to the people in Rome by stating in Romans Chapter 6, verses 17 and 18, "But God be thanked, that you were the servants of sin, but you have obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine which was delivered you. Being then made free from sin, you became the servants of righteousness". Sin is the only thing that will separate man from God. 316: Lesson 20: Preaching In Worship
In Jeremiah 5:31 God says, "The prophets prophesy falsely; and my people love to have it so." Why do people desire to be taught falsely? Because they are not interested in what God has to say. The reason for all the religious division we see in the world today is people will not accept all that God says in the Bible as final authority. They have become their own authority. Jesus says in John 5:32, "And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free." Only by believing and obeying the truth can we be made free from sin. But what is the truth? Jesus says in John 17:17, "Sanctify them by your truth, your word is truth." The word of God is the only truth that will make us free so we can go to heaven. The word of men cannot make us free, but will cause us to be lost. All things preached must come from the word of God. We are told in 1 Peter 4:11, "If anyone speaks, let him speak as the oracles of God." The pulpits of our land ring out with what speakers personally think and ... ...

Introduction: All mental illness is a behaviour choice not a bodily disease. All the behaviours associated with mental illness are without exception, sins listed in the Bible. Sinful living choices can lead to further sinful emotional choices like depression and anxiety, which then become the basis of a mental illness label (diagnosis) by atheistic chemical psychiatrists. Jesus commanded us not to be anxious and a "depressed Christian" is an oxymoron, considering the great joy of possessing the reward and blessing of eternal life in heaven. 326: Romans 8 Study The Gift of the Holy Spirit
And concerning you, my brethren, I myself also am convinced that you yourselves are full of goodness, filled with all knowledge and able also to admonish one another." (Romans 15:13-14) b. 1 Jn 2:27 you have no need for anyone to teach you... His anointing teaches you all things I. Romans 8:9-11 "However, you are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God dwells in you. But if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he does not belong to Him. If Christ is in you, though the body is dead because of sin, yet the spirit is alive because of righteousness. But if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ Jesus from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who dwells in you. So then, brethren, we are under obligation, not to the flesh, to live according to the flesh- for if you are living according to the flesh, you must die; but if by the Spirit you are putting to death the deeds of the body, you ... ...

328: What is Bible Obedience?
But how do we know that we know God? "Hereby we know that we know him, if we keep his commandments" I John 2: 3. We cannot claim scripturally to know God, if we refuse to keep his commandments. Obedience shows we know God. Man needs friendship with God and his Son. Jesus said, "Ye are my friends, if you do whatsoever I command you" John 15:14. Obedience is an expression of our friendship with Jesus. What a marvelous friend we have in him! Every human being needs this close friendship with our blessed Lord. Obedience shows our friendship. Faith in Jesus Christ as God's Son is essential to our salvation from sin. "Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved" Acts 16: 31. But our faith is not a saving faith unless it expresses itself in obedience to God's will. The inspired James said, "For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also" James 2:26. Saving faith expresses itself in obedience to God's will. B. Statement of Faith We believe in God, the Eternal Spirit, Father of our Lord Jesus Christ and our Father, and to his deeds we testify: He calls the worlds into being, creates man in his own image and sets before him the ways of life and death. He seeks in holy love to save all people from aimlessness and sin. He judges men and nations by his righteous will declared through prophets and apostles. In Jesus Christ, the man of Nazareth, our crucified and risen Lord,he has come to us and shared our common lot, conquering sin and death and reconciling the world to himself. ... Paul states, "Let him that stole steal no more: but rather let him labor, working with his hands the thing which is good, that he may have to give to him that needeth" Ephesians 4:28. Although the word "gambling" does not appear in the Bible, the practice is clearly condemned in numerous passages of scripture. Gambling is based on the evil desire to get money or goods which belong to someone else without giving fair value in exchange. The Bible calls this sin "covetousness" and makes it clear that those who do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God (Romans 1:28-32). Because gambling encourages the "getting something for nothing" philosophy, it also encourages laziness and indolence. Men and women who set out on a career of gambling shun honest labor and become parasites. States and cities where gambling is legalized and a "big business" become mere parasites living off the productive labor of others. Such statements as Paul made in II Thessalonians 3:10,11, certainly conflict ... ...

The six trials of Jesus were a total miscarriage of justice that involved Jewish envy, political pandering, evil and pure cowardice. 2. Pilate said as he washed his hands, "I am innocent of this man's blood" the Jews actually responded, "His blood be upon us and our children". So be it! And such is the gospel. Similarly, prayers are said for the "fruit of the vine", usually grape juice (but which could be natural wine), and trays containing many individual containers are passed, each Christian (again) partaking in turn. The eye, however, does not see the true communion between God and His children. Memories of Jesus' earthly ministry are brought to mind during the prayers of thanksgiving for the bread and while it is passed from person to person. The Christian remembers that his Lord descended from heaven into mortal body, and was (just as are we) tempted of every sin; yet, Jesus never sinned. The Christian remembers the mockery and the unjust trial where his Lord was condemned to a cruel and painful death. He remembers how Christ Jesus died, exactly as was foretold centuries before that time, and how his Lord came up from the grave, proving that death has no permanent claim on believers. ... Por Leonard S. JESUS: The God Who Forgives! Click to View Forgiveness is the perfume a flower leaves on the heel that crushed it. It is an undeserved grace that one who is sinned against grants the one who sinned against them. The word "grace" means literally in the original Greek "unmerited favor". It is through God's grace, mercy and forgiveness that we have the forgiveness of our sins. Every man has sinned before God, 1 John 8-10 "If we say that we have no sin, we are deceiving ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. If we say that we have not sinned, we make Him a liar, and His word is not in us." When Jesus hung on the cross, He being God, showed the perfect example in the attitude we must have in forgiving others. He said, "Father forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing." 341: Preguntas Acerca de la Cena del Señor

Are we saved by Faith without Works?
To get a good view of faith and its influence upon those who truly possess it, please read the eleventh chapter of the book of Hebrews. Verse 1 says, "Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen". The Apostle Paul says in Romans Chapter 10, verse 17: faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God". So then The word of God tells us of God's purpose for our lives and of His desires about our eternal destiny. He tells us about man's perfect beginning, of his fall into sin by following the advice of Satan, and of man's bondage in sin until he is redeemed by a Saviour. God's word tells us how Jesus Christ died: "the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God", and how we may have salvation in Him, I Peter 3: 18. God's word also tells us of heaven as the great home for which we may hope because of our trust and reliance, or faith, in Christ, and because of our obedience to Him, Hebrews 5: 9. "Let no one deceive you in any way, for the day of the Lord will not come unless the apostasy comes first, and the man of sin is revealed, the son of perdition, who opposes and is exalted above all that is called God, or that is worshiped, so that he sits in the temple of God and gives himself out as if he were God." Some religionists today advocate that man is saved by faith only. However, there is only one passage in the entire Bible that has the words "faith" and "only" together and it says, "not by faith only" (James 2:24). The Catholics today speak of the Pope as vicar, taking the place of God (Christ Himself is God, Matt. 1:23; John 1:1), yet there is only one passage in the entire Bible which speaks of a man doing such and it calls him "the man of sin."
