401: Bible help to Overcome Depression!
Jesus has some special words for us: He said, "I came that they may have life, and have it more abundantly" (John 10:10). With these words, Jesus lifts life above the physical realm and assures us that the abundant life has a divine and eternal quality. The Bible tells us that we were created in the very image or likeness of God, and you can be sure that if God made us like himself, then our lives must have tremendous meaning, destiny, and purpose. Jesus came to give each of us a good life. And you can enjoy the benefits of that abundant life right here on the face of this earth. Life can have many beautiful moments which you can and should enjoy and cherish. It ... You may want to punish yourself and others for the deep personal problems which you encounter. However, the abundant life which Jesus gives prepares our hearts with a mature love which can endure pain and suffering. 402: Lesson 17: Baptized Into Christ
The preposition into indicates a change of relationship. You can search from the front to the back of your Bible, and you will find no other way to get into Christ except by being baptized into Christ. Also Romans 6:3 says the same thing, "Or do you not know, that as many of us as were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death?" So the only way we can get into Christ is to be baptized into Christ. Either a person has been baptized into Christ, or he is still outside of Christ. We are either in or we are out. Have you been baptized into Christ in order to be saved and have your sins forgiven? If you haven't been, let us notice some of the things that you are missing. 1) Ephesians 1:3 says, "Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in heavenly places in Christ." This verse tells us that every spiritual blessing is located in Christ. Only those who are in Christ can enjoy these spiritual blessings. Since this ... ...

404: The Bible & How to Solve Family problems!
How to Solve Family problems the Bible way! United Press International recently reported that in Bloemfontein, South Africa, a man built a wall through the middle of the house and told his wife to stay on the other side. This is the kind of wall which one cannot break through physically. But many people have built walls which cannot be seen, but which prevent people from communicating emotionally and spiritually. The statement of the Apostle Paul in Galatians 6:2, which states: "Bear you one another's burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ", must certainly include the family relationships, but only when we are in an authentic dialogue will we know the burdens that others bear. Only when we are willing to reveal our burdens, only when we are truly sensitive to the burdens of others, only in a relationship of genuine openness can we "Fulfill the law of Christ". It is a truism that you cannot really love another person unless you know that person's needs and help fill those needs. ... ...

405: Dating Rules For Teenagers
Unlimited time for amusement often leads to poor performance at school, at work, and at home. The family that waits up for a late comer will also suffer for lack of rest. Too, the younger children will clamor for the same unlimited privilege. You have the right and the duty to control your children, for the Bible says that, "He that provides not for his own is worse than an infidel" I Timothy 5:8. Providing for your children includes love, direction, discipline, and control, as well as the physical necessities of life. We do not advise an ever-abiding, all-prevailing control of the child. Parents must not stifle the growth of the child by over-control; as the child matures, parental control should be gradually released. It is indeed a fine line that we parents must walk; that between too much and too little control - and it requires the nicest kind of judgement. 407: Gambling and the Bible
Gambling and the Bible Recently in a southern city a young man was canvassing the community selling chances on $25.00 to be given away by local church of which the boy was a member. After carefully learning from the youngster the facts, one of his contacts asked him, "Isn't that gambling?" The reply was, "Not if I do it for the church". It is a modern tragedy that some religious organizations resort to methods of gambling in order to raise money for their operations. Here a boy was being taught by a religious group to feel that a thing wrong in itself was all right if done in the interest of his church. The New Testament teaches the Christian to give of his free-will unto God ... Some people gamble because of the thrill they receive from the uncertainty connected with it. 411: The Sexes: Equal But Different in 19 basic ways
Self-esteem: Men develop the evidence of their worthiness primarily from their jobs, being respected in business, profession or craft. Women, and especially homemakers, depend primarily on the romantic relationship with their husbands for ego support. This explains why the emotional content of a marriage is usually more important to women and why the little tokens of affection are appreciated more by wives, who obtain esteem from these expressions of love and generosity. Women need continual reassurance from their husband that they are loved, needed and valued. Because men do not need this kind of reassurance from their wives, they often fail to see their wife's need for it and neglect ... for money. They would feel ashamed to be "just a housewife". 412: Kittel, Gerhard: Theological Dictionary of the New Testament
What that means is that JW's cannot use only-begotten to prove Jesus is a creature because the Greek does not necessarily mean that. So at best, Arians who argue that "only-begotten" proves Jesus is a creature are in the same type of situation Bible believers are in when they say the term "Son of God" applied to Jesus ... Kittel's does suggest that this begetting could refer to the human phase of Jesus existence, "When Jn. speaks of the Son of God, he has primarily in view the man Jesus Christ". but even if this is so, Kittel denies it means Jesus is a creature. To prove that mono-genes does not mean source but relationship, Hebrews 11:17 is the text! It is used ... Mono-genes occurs in Jn. 1:14,18; 3:16,18; 1 Jn. 4:9. What is meant is plainest in Jn. 3:16 and I Jn. 4:9. Because Jesus is the only Son of God, His sending into the world is the supreme proof of God's love for the world. On the other side, it is only as the only-begotten Son of God that Jesus can mediate life and salvation ... ...

427: Taking Revenge Is Not So Sweet!
McMillan states it might truthfully be written on many thousands of death certificates that the victims died of "grudgitis". We have heard people say from between clenched teeth, "I'll get even with that skunk if it's the last thing I ever do". Too often, it is exactly that. When Jesus said, "Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good unto them that hate you, and pray for, them who despitefully use you and persecute you" Matthew 5:44, he was not giving us impractical, pie in the sky, kind of advice, but sure resources with which to cope with abrasive conflicts. Life is made up of hurts and conflicts, which arise daily ... Have you parked beside an unloving, unforgiving spirit? If you have, move on. Move on beyond your hurts, adversities, tragedies, set-backs. Move on to wholeness and happiness that comes from not being overcome of evil, but overcoming evil with good. 436: Pope Offers Catholics Time Out Of Purgatory By Y2K Indulgences
Wow! Think about it. That would mean we could avoid the painstaking instructions given by the INSPIRED JOHN when he said, "If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness" (1 John 1:9). Too, we could ignore James' admonition to "confess your trespasses to one another, and pray for one another that you may be healed" (Js 5:16). We are for people giving up their sins, but for more than a day (Col 3:5-10). However, when you read the Bible "from cover to cover" you will never read of a thing called "indulgences."
