451: Jesus Our Hope!
It is by our obedience to God's will through our faith in Christ that puts us into the body of Christ, His church, and makes us acceptable to God. For details about obedience and its need and how to be pleasing to Christ, study the message , "The Importance of Obedience", and "What Must I Do To Be Saved?". The Christian life can be a glorious, hopeful existence even though the individual may face war, famine, illness, and other perils common to human existence. We do not, necessarily, hope for God to bless us with earthly riches, nor do we expect Him to redeem His promises to us with earthly blessing. Our hope rests in the promise of an everlasting life near to God when Christ comes again. These hopes are well stated by the Apostle Paul in Romans 8: 31-39: "What shall we say then to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us? He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things? Who shall lay anything to ... ...

When we forsake the assembly of the church, except for sickness or circumstances beyond our control, we are not only disobeying God, but we are robbing ourselves of all the benefits of worship which would have helped us to grow and become spiritually strong. By forsaking the assembly, we also endanger our souls because as the above verse says "For if we sin willfully after we have received the knowledge of the truth, there no longer remains a sacrifice for our sins." It is bad enough for anyone to be lost, but to see one of God's children fall away is a disaster. It is heartbreaking because Christ is our only sacrifice for sin. When people reject their only sacrifice for sin there remains nothing ... The sad part will be they didn't have to be there, but they became careless and indifferent with their souls. Clark Carlton explains how Justin's wrong view was used against the church: "Arius was a presbyter of the Church of Alexandria in the early fourth century. The controversy began with his interpretation of Proverbs 8:22ff., where Solomon speaks of Wisdom: The Lord created Me at the beginning of His work, the first of His acts of old (RSV). Everyone, both Orthodox and Arian, understood Wisdom to be Christ. The question was, what does this verse mean. Arius' answer was that the Logos is a creature, albeit the highest, noblest, and best of creatures. Those who sought to uphold the Orthodox doctrine that Christ is the uncreated Son of God had to deal with Arius' ... This view creates just as many difficulties as the last. 465: Lesson 1: The Purpose Of Our Worship Of God
... Our singing, praying, studying His word, giving, and communion are designed by God to bring us closer to Him and to cause us to think more like He thinks, thus becoming more like Him. James 4:8 tells us to, "Draw near to God and He will draw near to you." Our worship not only honors and magnifies God, but it is also for our own edification and strength. Worship helps us develop a God-like and Christ-like character. We become like unto those we admire and worship. When we worship God we tend to value what God values and gradually take on the characteristics and qualities of God, but never to His level. As Philippians 2:5 says, "Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ." How do we take on the mind of Christ? In Romans 12:2 we read, "And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind." We renew our mind as we study and meditate on God's word and worship Him. 469: Does God Approve Instrumental Music in church?
The Bible, indeed, never condemns the use of instruments of music in worship, but neither does it command their use. Many things we know to be wrong are not condemned by name in the Bible. Thus, we can never assume that we have God's approval to do an act when no scripture teaches against that act. In the New Testament, which is our guide today, the apostle, Paul, says that faith comes by hearing the word of God and that whatsoever is not of faith is sin. This is another way of saying that if you cannot find command or example for an act of worship in the will of Christ (the New Testament), you should not do that act. (Study Romans 10:17 and 14:23) Thus, if an act of worship -is done without scriptural approval, it is done without faith, for faith comes by hearing the Word of God. Because that which is not of faith is sin, it is unnecessary that the Word of God prohibit the act; it is only necessary that it be uncommanded. Hence, the argument that instruments of music may be used ... ...

God, having gone into heaven, after angels and authorities and powers had been subjected to Him. " (1 Peter 3:18-22) Introduction: 1. Once Noah's Ark has been found and fully documented as fact by archeologists, geologists and other scientists, then, is the time for you to consider getting saved as Christian so that you do not suffer the same terrible fate as those who rejected the preaching of Noah. 2. In the same way Christians call upon unbelievers to repent of their sins before the second coming of Christ destroys the world with fire. 3. Everything God has ever said to us in His Holy Book has been said for our own good, and is conducive to our happiness here in this life, and in the life that is to come. 483: Christians Should Be Different!
... The book of Hebrews (Chapter 13, verse 4) reveals that, "Marriage is honourable in all, and the bed undefiled: but whoremongers and adulterers God will judge." Jesus said about divorce in Matthew 5:32: "But I say unto you, that whosoever shall put away his wife, saving for the cause of fornication, causeth her to commit adultery; and whosoever shall marry her that is divorced committeth adultery." Thus, fornication, or adultery, is the only cause for divorce satisfactory to God. Paul instructed Jesus' followers regarding family relationships as follows: "Therefore, as the church is subject unto Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands in everything." Paul also said: "Children, obey your parents in the Lord: for this is right. Study carefully Ephesians 5:22 through 6:4. God has appeared, bringing salvation to all men" Titus 2:11. Of course this passage is not teaching that all men will go to heaven, just that all men are given the opportunity to go to heaven. An paraphrase of Tit 2:11 would be: "For the grace of God has appeared, making salvation available to all men" or "For the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation to the doorway of choices that is now available to all men" or "God's grace provided the blood of Christ which has been brought to the door of every man who, if they open the door, and get baptized, can be saved." Since all Universalists believe all men will be saved, this directly impacts on the doctrine of hell in one of two ways: Some Universalists reject hell altogether, while ... 486: Can A Christian Sin And Be Lost?
At its other extreme, this doctrine is expressed as, "No matter how grievous, the sins of Christians will not be held against them in the final judgement". Those who hold this last view believe that Christians can do wrong, but they also believe that Christ will forgive them of any, and every, sin so that they will be blameless on the day of judgement.
