301: Is it OK that My church doesn't have Communion every Sunday?
Should the Lord's Supper be observed every Sunday? To answer this question, we cannot depend on the practice of churches today, for some churches observe the Lord's Supper monthly and others only once or twice a year. For God's answer to the question, we must go to the Bible itself. When Jesus instituted the Supper, he was eating the Passover with his disciples. But at the dinner, according to Luke's account in Chapter 22:19-20, "He took bread, and when he had given thanks, he brake it, and gave to them, saying, This ... Pages 46 and 85 says: "The first of all the Christian churches founded by the apostles was that at Jerusalem; and after the form and model of this all the others of that age were constituted. 306: Evangelistic, Small-group Home Bible Studies
If we invited non-Christians to attend a small-group home study versus church services, a much higher ratio of people would attend a home study. People feel much more at ease, so they are more likely to return. One of the advantages of these home studies is that every member, regardless of Bible knowledge, can be evangelistic. In John 1:40-42, Andrew, a new disciple, brought Peter to Jesus. New Christians can immediately bring their family and friends to the weekly home studies. This is very important because statistics prove that new ... Each person present is invited to read a predetermined portion and then paraphrase the basic message of the text. 308: The False doctrine of Roman Catholic papal infallibility
... Peter and the other apostles, in consideration of their demise, wrote letters preserving their combined God-given revelations for all time (2 Pet. 1:12-15; 3:1-2; Eph. 3:3-5.). Peter along with the other apostles were to "sit on twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel" (Mt. 19:28). Peter was not the head of the church - Jesus is the only head of His church (Eph. 1:22-23;Col.1:19) Peter was not selected to be the Vicar of Christ on earth (no references in the Bible). Peter never talked about any "successors" to him. Peter and Paul never wore any of the many ... The emphasis was not on Peter "leading the church as a pope" being promoted to "top position" but rather accepting him back from the realm of condemnation into the common fold of the apostles who had not denied the Lord. Peter was told to be a shepherd of the sheep not a pope. Peter was simply a presbyter/overseer/shepherd: "Therefore, I exhort the elders among you, as your fellow elder and witness of the sufferings of ... ...

Jesus says in Mark 8:38, "For whoever is ashamed of Me and My words in this adulterous and sinful generation, of him the Son of Man also will be ashamed when he comes in the glory of His Father with the holy angels." If He is ashamed of us, that means that we are going to be lost. There are several examples of people confessing their faith in Christ in the Bible. One is found in Matthew 16:16-17, "Simon Peter answered and said, You are the Christ, the Son of the living God. Jesus answered and said to him, Blessed are you, Simon Barjona, for flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but My Father who is in heaven." Christ was well pleased with Peter's confession and He will be with ours also. In Acts 8:36-37 a man asked the question, "See here is water. What hinders me from being baptized?" Let's look at faith and works briefly in the light of scripture. Jot down the Bible passages and read them prayerfully from your own Bible. To get a good view of faith and its influence upon those who truly possess it, please read the eleventh chapter of the book of Hebrews. 326: Could mass murder Jeffrey Dahmer get to heaven before YOU?
Through a series of events a Christian minister, Roy Ratcliff, went into the prison and studied the Bible with Dahmer. He was immersed in water for the remission of his sins on May 10, 1994. He continued to study the Bible every week in prison until the day of his murder, Nov 28, 1994. One TV report quoted Dahmer as saying that he was at peace with ... My problem was believing that someone like Dahmer could truly repent of his sins. The Jews on Pentecost asked Apostle Peter after he convicted them of murdering Jesus Christ, "What shall we do?" Peter replied to them, "Repent and be baptized in the name of Jesus for the remission of your sins" Acts 2:37-38. Which sin was worse? Dahmer's or the murder of the sinless Christ? God forgave 3000 souls of their sin of murdering Christ. "So then, those who had received Peter's word were baptized; and there were added that day about three thousand souls." Acts 2:41 The critical question is not whether God could forgive Dahmer, but whether Dahmer ... ...

In agreement with the WT we would say NO; but as we have seen the WT does not use the word God the way the Bible does. This, in turn, leads the sinner to determine to turn away from sin, for we read, "Or despiseth thou the riches of his goodness and forbearance and long-suffering; not knowing that the goodness of God leadeth thee to repentance?" 336: 4 Competing Views of Church Organization
How sad and how blasphemous! In the Bible, there was no organization larger than the local church. Individual local churches, functioned independent and autonomous of each other, with no ties between them, is the pattern we see. Within each local church, the pattern is that of a plurality of men who meet the qualifications of 1 Tim 3 and Tit 1, with total control over the congregation. Under them are deacons, who serve as servants of the elders to assist, as instructed, to govern the local church. Pulpit preachers have no more authority than common members, unless they are also one of the elders. Let us get back to the simple organization that God ordained in scripture! The Catholic position: Peter was designated by Christ be the "universal bishop" and God intended for the Bishops of Rome to be the chair of his power in succession. This of course, is contrary to the Bible and all recorded history. Such a view is as purely mythical as the Muslim view that Jesus was a Muslim and Abraham ... ...

We are actually offended that they would say, "without creeds, you cannot know scripture". Creeds don't explain scripture, they replace scripture.
