401: What is Bible Grace?
There are those who believe that God in His mercy and grace will not permit anyone to be lost; consequently, they feel no need for seeking salvation. It is true that the most joyous thought a convicted sinner can have is that God has offered to give him salvation. It is necessary, however, for us to understand just how one is saved by the grace of God. By definition, grace is unmerited favor. God looked upon man as he had sinned and as he was with out hope in the world. Although man did not deserve it, God formulated a plan whereby man could be saved from his lost condition. Jesus expressed this in these words, "For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son, that whosoever believeth on him should not perish but have everlasting life" (John, Chapter 3, verse 16). Thus, man has access to the grace of God through Jesus Christ. In Romans, Chapter 5, verses 1,2, the Apostle Paul declared, "Therefore being justified by faith we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus ... ...

404: Are we Saved By Faith Only?
The doctrine is commonly taught in the world that a person is saved the very moment he believes in Jesus Christ, that he is saved without any further acts of obedience. The New Testament book called James has much to say on the subject of faith and works. For example: "Even so faith, if it hath not ... that the only hope for salvation for lost humanity today is through the gospel of Christ. We do not propose to be saved by the works of the law, but through the works of faith and the labor of love in obedience to Christ. While the Bible says: "By the deeds of the law shall no flesh be justified", it also says in James Chapter 2, verse 24: "Ye see then how that by works a man is justified and not by faith only." 'These works then must not be the works of the law, but are the works of faith revealed in the gospel of Christ. The law of Moses is dead and its works mean nothing today, but the works of the gospel mean much. A person is saved by the blood of Christ, through the grace of God. ... ...

408: All Religious People Headed For The Same Place?
Is Everyone Entitled To His Own Belief? Is everyone entitled to his own belief? This question can be answered both yes and no. Yes! If one is asking if man is a free moral agent and that he yet has the inalienable right to choose either good or evil regardless of God's pleasure in the matter. But the answer is no if we are asking if our belief is acceptable even when it is in conflict with God's word and his will for us. The truth of God, the faith once delivered, is narrow! Jesus spoke of it as the narrow way and he admonished men to count the cost before they accept Christianity (Matthew 7:13-14). In concluding the great sermon on the mount, Jesus said that on the day of judgement some would be surprised because they will be rejected. Moreover, he made it clear that only those who hear God's teaching and follow it will be saved (Matthew 7:21-23). Lest we think that Christianity stands alone in being narrow, let us look at other ordinary areas of life. First, let us take the telephone ... ...

409: History of how Calvinism developed
Calvinism Refuted We Speak truth in LOVE History of how Calvinism developed: Because of the widespread influence of Calvinism, this is perhaps one of the most important studies a Christian can ever en age in. It is essential to become familiar with these false doctrines so that one will not be led astray. To that noble end, this effort is dedicated. History of the Christian Church Vol II P 246 Philip Schaff, "It was the universal faith of the church that man was made in the image of God, pure and holy, and fell by his won guilt. But the extent of sin and the consequences of the fall were not fully discussed before the Pelagius-Augustine controversy in the fifth century." John Calvin was born in France on July 10, 1509. As a result of his study of the Greek New Testament, Calvin became dissatisfied with and left the Catholic church. Through his influence and teaching, he became the founder of the doctrinal system known as Calvinism. Calvin did not technically establish a denomination ... ...

419: Texts Calvinists misuse to prove "Calvinistic Predestination
Those who hear, believe and respond in obedience are referred to as "the called" (Gal. 1:6; 1 Pet. 2:9). In Romans 8:29-30, we can see the unfolding of God's plan. God determined to send mankind a Savior to die for all men. He foreordained all of the events before they actually took place. In that sense, God predestinated our salvation. It wax not that He selected us individually to be saved or lost, but that those who accepted the gospel call would be saved. Those who answer that call are justified and glorified. 4. Those who are chosen are those who are "in Him" (Christ) vs. 3-4 We become God's children by our faith in and obedience to Christ's gospel (v. 5). God adopts us into His family upon our obedience (Rom. 8:15; Gal. 4:4-6). The counsel of God's will (v. 11) refers to His decision to send Jesus to redeem the obedient. The change in a person's life resulting in his becoming a Christian is called in the Bible, conversion, and the Bible teaches that conversion is necessary for a person to be saved. Christ likened this change to a birth and taught Nicodemus, "Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit he cannot enter into the kingdom of God" (John 3:5). Of the 27 books comprising the New Testament, there is one book which is particularly helpful in understanding the nature of conversion. This book is Acts of the ... It is the law of love and liberty (made perfect by Jesus' sacrifice) that was revealed by Christ and His apostles in the New Testament which we, today, are to obey. (James 1: 25). It is by our obedience to God's will through our faith in Christ that puts us into the body of Christ, His church, and makes us acceptable to God. For details about obedience and its need and how to be pleasing to Christ, study the message , "The Importance of Obedience", and "What Must I Do To Be Saved?". For Christians the name of God is JESUS! "And there is salvation in no one else; for there is no other name under heaven that has been given among men by which we must be saved."
