451: Lesson 9: Doing God's Will
We learn from the above scripture, that we don't go to heaven by doing the will of men, or by doing what we think is right. The only way we can go to heaven is by doing the will of the Father, and that will is found right in our Bibles. Do we really know what the will of the Father is so that we can be sure of going to heaven? This is too important a matter to assume that we do or to take someone else's word for it. Do we really know what the Bible says that God wants us to do to be saved? What must I do to be saved? This is a very important question. Many people would answer this question in many different ways. The Bible is the only reliable place we can go for our answer, since it is our soul that will be lost if we follow man's advise. Our obedience to Christ is a very serious decision and must not be taken lightly. It must be on the Lord's terms as laid out in the scriptures and not on our terms. We have already seen in Matthew 7:13-14, 21, only few will be saved, and many will be ... ...

In Christ's name and by his grace we accept our mission of witness and service to all people. We rejoice in God, maker of heaven and earth, and in the covenant of love which binds us to God and to one another. In the communion of the Holy Spirit we are joined together in discipleship and in obedience to Christ. At the table of the Lord we celebrate with thanksgiving the saving acts and presence of Christ. 455: The Interactive Bible:
He that abideth in the doctrine of Christ, he hath both the Father and the Son" II John, verse 9. The doctrine of Christ is very important. Without it we do not have God. By abiding in it we have both the Father and the Son. In the Bible, the doctrine of Christ includes his virgin birth, his miracles, his death, burial and resurrection, and ascension to the right hand of God. However, there are other things that are important which are in the doctrine of Christ. They include his church, worship, repentance, baptism, the Holy Spirit, the Lord's Supper, right living, and his second coming as well as others. Sometimes there is a tendency to emphasize Christian living and neglect Christian doctrine. This we must not do. They must not be separated. The great doctrines of Jesus form the foundation for righteous living. In I Corinthians 15, the resurrection inspires us to work for Christ, "knowing that our labour is not in vain, in the Lord" I Corinthians 15:58. In Acts, the seventeenth ... ...

456: Catholic doctrinal Flip-Flops: Baptism: Changed from immersion ...
The word baptism in the original Greek means immersion! Our English word "baptism" is from the Greek word "baptisma" and means "immersion, submersion and emergence" (Vine's Expository Dictionary of New Testament Words, p. 96), "to dip, immerse, submerge" (Thayer's Greek-English Lexicon, p. 94). And he ordered the chariot to stop; and they both went down into the water, Philip as well as the eunuch, and he baptized him. When they came up out of the water, the Spirit of the Lord snatched Philip away; and the eunuch no longer saw him, but went on his way rejoicing. Acts 8:38-39 C. Bible Baptism is a burial: Only immersion fulfills the meaning of a burial, spinkling makes the idea of baptism being a burial nonsense: "having been buried with Him in baptism, in which you were also raised up with Him through faith in the working of God, who raised Him from the dead." Colossians 2:12 "Or do you not know that all of us who have been baptized into Christ Jesus have been baptized into His death? ... ...

Introduction: 1. We support the state of modern Israel as a stable productive democracy and a protectorate of biblical archeology from the Muslims who would hinder and destroy any evidence the Bible is accurate and that Jews are the historic occupiers of the land since 1400 BC. What John 17:3 is actually saying: The expression, "proceeded forth" in John 8:42 means nothing more than "Jesus came from the presence of the Father, being sent". 484: How to Pray Acceptably
This was a model prayer given by Jesus for his disciples to pray. Christ never prayed this prayer for himself, as is shown by the words, "forgive us our sins" - Jesus was sinless. Also, the words "thy kingdom come" were given in a setting that preceded the coming of the church or the kingdom (Matthew 16: 18,19). The kingdom for which they were taught to pray did come in their lifetime (Mark 9: 1). We must always pray in accordance with God's revealed will (I John 5: 14,15). We must live in union with him (John 15: 7). The entire godhead is involved in our prayers. Our petitions are to the Father (Matthew 6: 9), through the name of Christ, who is our mediator (I Timothy 2: 5; Acts 4: 12), and with the help of the Holy Spirit (Romans 8: 26). Just as baptism is in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit, so expressing in Jesus name would indicate unity of godhead (Matthew 8: 19). Prayer should never take the place of our spiritual efforts to get things done. We should pray as if all ... ...

497: Sola Scriptura proven from the Bible! Irrefutable proof texts ...
... A. Even though the apostles were inspired with genuine oral revelation, they always directed people to the scriptures for the final determination of truth. Oral tradition is worthless without the witness of scripture! And according to Paul's custom, he went to them, and for three Sabbaths reasoned with them from the Scriptures (Acts 17:2) Now these were more noble-minded than those in Thessalonica, for they received the word with great eagerness, examining the Scriptures daily to see whether these things were so. Therefore many of them believed, along with a number of prominent Greek women and men. (Acts 17:11-12) "Apollos powerfully refuted the Jews in public, demonstrating by the Scriptures that Jesus was the Christ." (Acts 18:28) B. Scriptures were read in the churches every Lord's Day: Until I come, give attention to the public reading of Scripture, to exhortation and teaching. (1 Timothy 4:13) III. Powerful Sola Scriptura proof texts: A. Abide only within scripture to the ... ...

498: Archeology of Jewish Head Phylactery, Arm Tefillin, Door Mesusah ...
Of course the truth infuriated them: "Now when they heard this, they were cut to the quick, and they began gnashing their teeth at him." (Acts 7:54) and they stoned Stephen. It wasn't until a few months later that Paul would have his heart circumcised by Christ when he was immersed in the synagogue Mikveh at Damascus. Notice it was Paul himself who later made the spiritual connection with the message inside his own phylactery as a Jew: "In Christ you were also circumcised with a circumcision made without hands, in the removal of the body of the flesh by the circumcision of Christ; having been buried with Him in baptism, in which you were also raised up with Him through faith in the ... 500: The Personality & Deity of the Holy Spirit proven from the Bible ...
... Used of the Holy Spirit 5 times in John 14:26; 15:26; 16:7; 14:16 and once of Christ in 1 John 2:1. When we combine this with the fact that Jesus said the Holy Spirit was another helper, Gr "allos", "another of the same kind", the personality of the Holy Spirit is reinforced even stronger. The Greek word "parakletos" that is used in all these verses was always applied to persons, not things. So the fact that both Greek words "allos" and "parakletos" TOGETHER in the same phrase in reference to Jesus is irrefutable proof that the Holy Spirit is portrayed as a person. In Acts 9:31 Christians were "walking in the fear of the Lord and the comfort of the Holy Spirit." The word, "Comfort" ... Heb 10:15-17 (Jer. 31:33-34) And the Holy Spirit also bears witness to us; for after saying, 16 "This is the covenant that I will make with them After those days, says the Lord: I will put My laws upon their heart, And upon their mind I will write them," He then says, 17 "And their sins and their ... ...
