357: Lesson 22: The Lord's Church
Master index of 25 studies: "Determine your salvation" Lesson 22 The Lord's Church (Part A) There is one other thing that concerns our salvation that I would like for us to look at in the Bible. In response to Peter's confession to Jesus in Matthew 16:16 that, "You are the Christ, the Son of the living God". Jesus then says in Matthew 16:18, "On this rock I will build My church." To whom was this church to belong? "My" is possessive, which shows the church belongs to Jesus. How many churches did Jesus say He was going to build? He said He was going to build "My church", which is singular not plural. The Lord only promised to build His one church. In Ephesians 4:4-6 there are seven ones listed: "There is one body, and one Spirit, even as you were called in one hope of your calling; one Lord, one faith, one baptism, one God and Father of all who is above all, and through all, and in you all." Just as there is only one God and only one Lord we also see there is only one body. The Bible ... ...

359: Lesson 19: Baptism Is Immersion
Master index of 25 studies: "Determine your salvation" Lesson 19 Click to View Baptism Is Immersion Our word "baptize" is translated from the original Greek word "baptizo", which means to immerse. "Baptizo" does not mean sprinkle or pour. If our Lord had wanted people to be sprinkled, he would have inspired the New Testament writers to use the Greek word "rhantizo". If our Lord wanted people to be poured He would have inspired New Testament writers to use the Greek word "katacheo". But he didn't, so "baptizo" was used, which can only mean to immerse. Let's look in the Bible to see how people were baptized. In John 3:23 we read, "Now John also was baptizing in Aenon near Salim, because there was much water there." Why was John baptizing near Salim? "Because there was much water there." Scriptural baptism, which is immersion, according to the Bible requires much water. Master index of 25 studies: "Determine your salvation" Lesson 21 Man Is Not To Change What God Says Man does not have the authority to change the will of God on any subject. We have been given severe warnings in several places in the Bible concerning any changes that we try to make to God's word. As we have already seen in Galatians 1:6-9, if we pervert the gospel by changing it, we will be accursed. Another such warning comes in the closing verses of the Bible. Revelation 22:18-19 says, "For I testify unto everyone who hears ... Open your eyes and read God's word for yourself. Those who have added to and taken away from God's word will be lost. If you continue to follow them, then you too will be lost. What You Need to Do In Acts 19:1-5 we have an example of twelve men, that the Apostle Paul met at Ephesus. Ostraca, Tablets and Inscriptions of the Bible King Josiah Letters Ostraca collection (640 - 609 BC) Shlomo Moussaieff #1 and #2 King Josiah Ostraca (610 BC) Introduction: 1. These two ostracon were the written records of communications between individuals and Josiah, king of Judah in Jerusalem. 2. They surfaced from the private antiquities market recently. Since they did not come from an official archeological dig, there is always a chance these are forgeries. 3. However, both are considered genuine. After careful analysis it has been concluded that ... Because there are no irregularities in script or language, I continue to believe (see Bordreuil, Israel, and Pardee 1996 and 1998) that the text is authentic. To believe the opposite requires the hypothesis that the forger was a master epigrapher, a master grammarian (only an extremely skilled Hebraist could have produced a text that so perfectly reflects the intricacies of Biblical Hebrew morpho-syntax), a master of biblical law, and a ... ...

... They were not only the religious rulers, but also in all civil matters as well. They had the power to sentence someone to death, impose civil fines for business corruption etc. The Catholic church and Jehovah's Witnesses claim to be Theocratic in that they believe God directly communicates with the Pope, and the writers of the Watchtower Magazine. Both religions, if given the opportunity through a large enough majority of the population, would run the state. Islam is also a religion that is theocratic, since its aim, as mandated by the Koran, is to take over the world and impose a dictatorship under Shariah law. The difference between the theocratic governments of Israel and Islam are that Israel's government was geographically bound within the promised land of Palestine, whereas Islam is geographically aggressive for new territory to a world level. No one actually believes that the Holy Spirit had the phrase "Goshen of Arabia" in the original. We all understand it was a textual gloss of the worse kind: Adding to the word of God something that is factually untrue. ... Herodotus said in 450 BC (2500 year ago) that a canal needed to be dug between the Mediterranean sea to the Red Sea and it was a four days journey. (Herodotus 2.158) This means that the sea level was about as we see it today. Also we have can use the archeological site of El-kheleifeh which was ancient Elat, (1000 BC) to determine ... There is no hint in the text of Moses even attempting to circumvent Yahweh's directive against him leading the Israelites into the Promised Land, ... Hence the desert route would have them approaching the northern end of the Arabah from the west southwest, and then crossing the Arabah between Tamar and Zalmonah. (The New American Commentary Num 21:1-3, 2000 AD) What the Bible says about Hormah: 1. "Now the Amalekites and the Canaanites live in the valleys; turn tomorrow and ... ...

... But when the Jews finally learned of Hadrian's true intent, as did England learn of Hitler's, they rebelled and a huge war broke out in 132 AD where 85 major Jewish towns were destroyed and 580,000 Jewish men were killed. The false promises of peace of Hadrian and Hitler both resulted in major holocausts against the Jews. Israel came to the promised land with about 600,000 men and they were finally expelled from the land by having about 600,000 men killed by Hadrian. The Temple of Jupiter was completed on ... In the 15th century, the cave was a textile storage are and "the Cotton Grotto." In the 16 century, the turks sealed the cave until it was discovered by Dr. Barclay while walking with his son and dog. The dog started digging at the entrance of the cave while tracking a fox.
