151: Why is Christianity the only true world Religion?
Jehovah God is the Creator and the sustainer of the universe, of life and of all things. This is in striking contrast to a gross polytheism found in the majority of religions, Islam being an exception. Only in the Judaeo-Christian religion does one find a logical, sensible, and reasonable explanation of the creation. The accounts of creation found in other that the Genesis record are written on a low mythological plane with a sordid conception of deity. At times the gods plot and fight against one another. Only in Christianity do we find a prophetic message heralding one who is to be sent out from God as man's deliverer and Savior; the only begotten Son, designated God with us and known as prophet, priest, king, wonderful, counsel-or, mighty God, everlasting Father, prince of peace. (Read Isaiah 9:6; Matthew 1:21-23; Hebrews 3:1). This prophetic story has its setting in Jewish history centuries before the birth of Christ. Moses told how God would raise up a prophet to whom the people ... ...

152: The Destruction of Jerusalem - George Peter Holford, 1805AD
... Of the desolating disposition which now governed the Roman army, the history of the Jewish war, and especially of the final demolition of the holy city, presents an awful and signal example. Jerusalem was not captured merely, but, with its celebrated temple, laid in ruins. Lest, however, the army of Titus should not be sufficiently designated by this expression, our LORD adds, "Wheresoever the carcass is, there will the eagles be gathered together." Matt. xxiv. 28. The Jewish state, indeed, at this time, was fitly compared to a carcass. The sceptre of Judah, i . e . its civil and political authority, the life of its religion, and the glory of its temple, were departed. It was, in short, morally and judicially dead. The eagle, whose ruling instinct is rapine and murder, as fitly represented the fierce and sanguinary temper of the Romans, and, perhaps, might be intended to refer also to the principal figure on their ensigns, which, however obnoxious to the Jews, were at length planted in ... ...

... And when he told me this Story, he was above forty years Elder than when he was thus strangely rescu'd, and in all that time, never had one Fit of the Sciatica." (Experimenta & Observationes Physicae, Robert Boyle, 1691 AD) "It is little known that Boyle, chemist and physicist with whose law of gaseous elasticity every schoolboy is familiar, devoted an appreciable part of his writings to matters medical. He seems to have been particularly attracted by psychological curiosities like Hollier's patient who 'had lost the sense of feeling' and was cured by Harvey [see p. 130], and by Greatraks' [see p. 178] stroking cures. In the first short extract he recommended introspection which as 'analysis of the mind' became a method of psychological research in the eighteenth century (Thomas Reid 1764) and the starting point of 'psycho-analysis' when at the turn of the nineteenth century Freud 'reflectingly' took note of what passed within his own mind. 154: A New System of the Spleen, Nicholas Robinson, 1729 AD
... THEN their Sins fly glaringly in their Faces, and are so infinitely great, that no Satisfaction can compensate; then they think of nothing but the fearful Wrath of God just ready to be pour'd out upon them; that the Sentence of Condemnation is already pass'd, and that they certainly shall be damn'd to all Eternity. THUS, these unhappy Wretches go on to encrease their Woes, before bad enough, now made worse from the Objects of Despair. But thus much I must observe in Defence of Religion, that these Disorders are no way the Effects of religious Duties, nor is Religion any way justly chargeable with their Consequences; they are owing to the Temperature of the Body, which, whenever it starts from its natural Standard, obliges the Mind to revolve upon those Ideas, that were most familiar to it while it was in Health. And if the Patient was intent upon religious Duties in Health, he will certainly revolve most upon those under this Disease; and as Fear, Sadness, and Sorrow, are the ... ...

These narratives may be about the activities of God, gods or other spiritual entities, about the career of a sacred teacher, about the experiences of a religious collectivity, and so on. The narratives in the Jewish and Christian scriptures about the creation of the world, about the giving of the Ten Commandments to Moses and about God's leading the people of Israel out of Egypt fit into this category, as do the accounts given in Australian aboriginal religion of the activities of sacred beings in shaping the contours of the land. The divine work of salvation is thus prosecuted in the historical threefold relation of Father, Son and Spirit. This threefold relation soon found fixed expression in the triadic formulae in 2 C. 13:13, and in I Cor. 12:4-6.2" The form is first found in the baptismal formula in Mt. 28:19; Did., 7. 1 and 3. 176: Religious Melancholy, John Moore, 1692 AD
In 1692 AD, John Moore, a church minister, preached a sermon to the queen about sin induced depression among Christians who have a "sincere love of God" and who experience that "which makes them fear". He correctly understands that depression is caused by sin: "dread of those Punishments, which he hath threatened to inflict on unrelenting sinners". However, he is inconsistent in his view, stating that the depression is caused by the body rather than the mind, "to judge them to be Distempers of the Body, rather than Faults of the Mind" and like chemical psychiatrists today, he actually excuses the sinful conduct as being outside the person's personal control. "they [bad thoughts] continue with you much against your consent". He even excuses their sinful conduct before God on Judgement day: "God . . . no where hath said, That Men shall be condemned for their ungovernable Thoughts, over which they have no dominion". Moore then contradicts himself and says that the cure is self control of ... ...

... Eating this meat socially was also a liberty (1 Corinthians 11:23,25,27) . These three passages (1 Corinthians 8; 10:14-22; and 10:23-33) apply important principles of the doctrine of Christ to three situations which we also face in principle. Should we observe socially customs that are rooted in false religion? (1 Corinthians 8). Should we participate in false religion? (1 Corinthians 10:14-22). Should we keep social customs if we do not know their background? (1 Corinthians 10:23-33) The answer to the first and third questions is This is a liberty. The answer to the second is This is sin. Paul himself exemplified this principle. Although he refused to allow the Jewish Christians to bind the customs of the law, such as circumcision, on the Gentiles (Acts 15:1-2; Titus 2:3-5), yet he himself , a Jew (Acts 22:3; Philippians 3:5), observed the customs of the law when he was among the Jews (1 Corinthians 9:19-23). They teach that Jesus was an angel, who through incarnation became a man! But it even gets worse! Gibbon then describes the Jewish animal sacrificial system of burning an animals guts (entrails) as of pagan origin as well! Gibbon is an infidel and Bible hater. "Gibbon was an infidel, and his unbelief lurks in every page of his work where Christianity is nearly or remotely touched upon. His skepticism leads him into manifold displays of unfairness and even into inaccuracies." (Cyclopedia of Biblical, theological and ecclesiastical literature, John McClintock and James Strong, Vol 3, p847 "Gibbon") Watchtower deception How credible is Gibbon's claim that Trinity was borrowed from the pagans, when most of the belief system that Trinitarians and anti-Trinitarians share (like the virgin birth, resurrection of Christ etc) are thought of by Gibbon as also of pagan origin. Although Adventists believe that a tiny unknown remnant has always kept the Sabbath day, (like the Seventh-day Baptist preacher mentioned above) only in the 19th century did God, through the Seventh-day Adventist church, restore in any measurable way, by direct revelation, the truth that the day Christians worship was Saturday.
