Deceptive quote: Trinitarian

Apart from misleading the reader of the sources true meaning, according to anti-Trinitarian logic, a wife is a lesser class of being than her husband because she is subordinate to him!

What Anti-Trinitarians quote:

"Jesus Christ does not usurp the place of God. His oneness with the Father does not mean absolute identity of being. Although the Son of God in his preexistent being was in the form of God, he resisted the temptation to be equal with God (Phil. 2:6). . . . Although completely coordinated with God, he remains subordinate to him." (Theologisches Begriffslexikon zum Neuen Testament, J. Schneider, 1965, Vol. 2, p. 606)

What they fail to tell the same author says:

J Schneider is being misrepresented, as this quote proves: "E. Stauffer is doubtless correct when he writes: "The Christology of the NT is carried to its logical conclusion with the thorough-going designation of Christ as theos"" (New International Dictionary of New Testament Theology, Colin Brown, 1932, God, Vol 2, p81, J. Schneider)

• Schneider's comments do not mean he denies the deity of Christ as being VERY God.

Deception Exposed:

1. It should be obvious that Schneider's comment: "he resisted the temptation to be equal with God" does not mean that Schneider believes that Jesus is a creature!
2. Biblical trinitarians will agree with the quote. The Bible teaches that the Son and the Holy Spirit are subordinate to the Father.
3. According to anti-Trinitarian logic, a wife is a lesser class of being than her husband because she is subordinate to him!
